My latest interiors obsession is herringbone patterned floor design. This design element compliments both contemporary and traditional spaces and adds a dimension of texture and movement to every room it occupies. I think my favorite examples are those in hardwood flooring where the tone of floor boards vary throughout (see the first example below). That being said, herringbone patterns have also been popping up in tile and brick flooring and the results are really impressive.
